FEDERAL TAX CREDIT Scholarship

Starting January 1, 2027, through the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) and the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA), federal taxpayers can receive a 100% federal income tax credit for donations up to $1,700. Your gift to CEF directly supports scholarships for K–12 students in Catholic schools—at no net cost to you. CEF is the exclusive Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) for Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

When you make a contribution of $1,700 to a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), such as CEF, you receive a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit for your tax return. In doing so, you help expand educational freedom for students and families desiring a Catholic education.

Students from households earning up to 300% of the area median income qualify for scholarships, with priority given to lower-income families and additional awards provided as funding is available. These scholarships expand access to Catholic education, make tuition and specialized services more affordable, and empower families to choose the learning environment that best fits their child’s needs. Scholarship funds will be used for tuition and school fees.
