About Monsignor Thomas Tank
For nearly 60 years, Monsignor Thomas Tank — known to most as Fr. Tom — has been a faithful shepherd to Catholic schools, parishes, and the people of Northeast Kansas.
Ordained in 1967, Monsignor Thomas Tank’s leadership has shaped generations through parish ministry and key initiatives in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.
Monsignor Thomas Tank was the first chaplain at Bishop Ward High School, was instrumental in the founding of Community Housing of Wyandotte County, Prairie Star Ranch/Camp Tekakwitha, Santa Marta Senior Community and establishing the popular annual Men Under Construction Event and Christ Renews His Parish program, just to name a few.
His enduring commitment to Catholic education and faith formation has strengthened schools and inspired countless students, families, and educators over the years.
The Catholic Education Foundation is proud to honor Monsignor Tank at the Gaudeamus Annual Benefit Gala on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Overland Park Convention Center.
