"I never thought I could afford to send my kids to Catholic school," said Dora Sandoval, a single mother who received CEF scholarships to help her three children attend Christ the King Elementary School and Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, KS.
"It's like this weight just came off of you and you're thinking, 'My kids are gonna have a faith-filled education because I was able to receive this scholarship.'"
In 2022, Dora's eldest son, Juan, graduated valedictorian from Bishop Ward High School. He is now attending Kenrick–Glennon Seminary and discerning on becoming a priest.
"I don't know where I'd be without my Catholic school background," said Juan Vazquez. "It's been a blessing to me and my family."
