From intense rallies to moments of sheer triumph, the 2024 CEF Futures Pickleball Tournament was a thrilling display of athleticism, sportsmanship and pure fun - raising $7,000 for the CEF Guardian Angel Fund.

Held on April 6th at Chicken N Pickle in Overland Park, this year's tournament included 20 doubles teams of all ages and skill levels. The tournament kicked off with a round robin, followed by elimination rounds. In the end, Rosco Halsey and Craig Hayes, competing as team Crab Legs, won the champion title and 2024 pickleball trophy, sponsored by City Rent A Truck.

"Removing fiscal barriers to Catholic Education isn't just crucial for the advancement of the Christian faith; it's a vital step for a society grappling with division and uncertainty," says Shaefer Schuetz, City Rent A Truck Director of Business Development. "The Catholic Education Foundation plays a pivotal role in making this vision a reality for all, as it should be. City Rent A Truck is proud to stand as a steadfast partner in this noble cause, committed to supporting it for as long as possible."

CEF Futures engages Catholics in their mid-20s through late-30s, who are passionate about philanthropy and supporting Catholic education. This fun, family-friendly event was an important opportunity for Futures members to increase their support for CEF's mission.

Additional support for the 2024 CEF Futures Pickleball Tournament was provided by court sponsors: Ameritase Life Insurance, BOK Financial, Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas, Edward Jones - Matthew Heitmann, Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue, Friends of Catholic Education and The Miller Group. In-kind support was provided by Perfect Promotions.

All proceeds from the tournament and raffle benefited the CEF Guardian Angel Fund, which provides financial support to students and families who experience hardship at any CEF school during the school year.
