My name is Molly Thomas and I am a seventh grader at Ascension Catholic School. I have been at Ascension since kindergarten and I love to sing. I have been involved in the school choirs and liturgical choir from kindergarten until now and I am so excited to add the Gaudeamus choir to my list.

Singing is one of my favorite parts of life. In praise and worship songs, you are praying to God times two! I feel one of the major reasons I have grown closer to God is song.  When I was told that ACS was getting the opportunity to sing at a CEF event, I knew I had to do it. Not only was it another singing opportunity for me, but it was also for an excellent cause. Helping to raise money for kids’ Catholic education is very dear to my heart. This makes me so proud to be a part of this group.

Starting out with a five-hour rehearsal and moving to one-hour rehearsals once a week, we have come together as a choir to sing our very best at this event. We have sung random songs through practices to bring us together, along with the songs we will sing at Gaudeamus. The songs we are singing are so true. The meaning behind the songs are wonderful, and I cannot wait to sing them. I hope the people attending this event will see their meaning and enjoy them. It makes me feel so good to be a part of this Foundation.

Get Ready to Celebrate!

This year’s Gaudeamus benefit gala will be on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 at the Overland Park Convention Center. Please plan to join us as honor Archbishop Naumann and raise funds for scholarships for students in need.
