Lent is a powerful season of transformation in our Catholic schools. Like many of us, students are giving up treats and deepening their prayer lives—but they’re also taking action in inspiring ways. Many schools are organizing service opportunities for students. Throughout the season, students have been focused on giving back, whether by volunteering at food pantries, collecting donations for those in need, or hosting denim days for ministries such as CEF.
Spiritual life is front and center this season. Students are attending additional Masses, participating in eucharistic adoration, and embracing opportunities for reconciliation and reflection—both in and out of the classroom. These experiences are forming not only bright minds, but compassionate hearts rooted in Christ.
"With so many negative things happening in our world like wars, violence, crime and ugly politics we need strong prayer lives to stay positive, fight off the darkness and, frankly, save the world," said Vincent Anch, CEF Executive Director. "Our youth are leading the way for us."
This opportunity for faith formation sets our Catholic schools apart. Right now, nearly 1,900 students are developing academically, socially, and spiritually—thanks to your generosity. What a blessing!
The Catholic Education Foundation’s efforts do not simply allow us to have more students in our schools. CEF helps us to bring more students and families closer to God and into a relationship with Jesus Christ. — Dr. Vince Cascone, Superintendent of Schools, Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas
Supporting the academic and faith formation of our youth has an immeasurable impact on our world. Please keep our students in your prayers this Lenten season.
