The second annual CEF Futures Pickleball Tournament raised nearly $9,000 for the CEF Guardian Angel Fund.
Held on May 7th at Chicken N Pickle in Overland Park, this year’s tournament included 15 doubles teams, ranging from beginners to seasoned competitors. The tournament kicked off with a round robin, followed by elimination rounds. In the end, Eric and Melinie Neuer, competing as team Bert and Erne, won the champion title and 2023 pickleball trophy, sponsored by City Rent A Truck.
With 65 active members, CEF Futures engages Catholics in their mid-20s through late-30s, who are passionate about philanthropy and supporting Catholic education. This fun, family-friendly event was an important opportunity for Futures members to increase their support for CEF’s mission.
Additional support for the 2023 CEF Futures Pickleball Tournament was provided by court sponsors: Bank of Oklahoma, Edward Jones - Matthew Heitmann, Fiorella's Jack Stack Barbecue, The Miller Group, Paradise Asphalt Maintenance, and Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas. In-kind support was provided by Perfect Promotions, Village West Liquor, and Chicken N Pickle.
All proceeds from the tournament and raffle benefited the CEF Guardian Angel Fund, which provides financial support to students and families who experience hardship at any CEF school during the school year.
