For the 4th year in a row, CEF's Gaudeamus is on The Independent magazine's Top Ten Events list, appearing at #4 this year! Congratulations and THANK YOU to all of you Angels Among Us who made Gaudeamus 2014 our biggest and best yet - and the 4th largest fundraiser in Kansas City last year!
Gaudeamus first appeared on The Independent's Top Ten listing in 2011 at #8. It moved to #6 for 2012, and #5 for 2013. The listing recognizes the ten largest fundraising events in Kansas City each year, as determined by revenue. Gaudeamus 2014 had more than 1,400 attendees and raised more than $1 million, allowing CEF to provide scholarships for more than 1,300 students this year.
"The generosity of our Gaudeamus sponsors and guests has a profound impact on the kids and families we serve," said Hamp Henning, CEF Board Chair. "Thanks to their support, high-quality, faith-filled education is possible for hundreds of families living in poverty who could not afford a Catholic education otherwise."
Henning and CEF Vice Chair Joan Wells accepted the Top Ten Award on behalf of CEF at The Independent's award ceremony on February 19.
